There is breaking news that will be of interest to many newborn parents: researchers may have found a cure for colic.
As reported in the app in an article called Lactobacillus reuteri to Treat Infant Colic: A Meta-analysis, "Lactobacillus reuteri DSM17938 has shown promise in managing colic, but conflicting study results have prevented a consensus on whether it is truly effective."
Today's Parent further explains the study by reporting that "after a week of taking probiotics (which are sometimes given to infants via a dropper), babies were crying about 21 minutes less, and by three weeks, parents enjoyed 25 more minutes of peace and quiet."
