Philippines Passing a Bill That You Have to Plant Trees When You Have a Baby

This new bill is an effort to protect the ecosystem.

The previous year has seen significant efforts to protect the environment. Different industries have increased their attempts to create eco-friendly products, such as grocery bags and beauty products. One nation is going to great lengths to protect and uphold our ecosystem.

The Philippines is about to pass a bill into law, requiring new parents to plant two new trees. For each child born, they must either plant the trees at their home or another approved area. Representatives Villanueva and Zamora, the proponents of the bill, decree that parents who do not comply will forfeit their child's birth certificate (Positive Outlooks).

The people of the Philippines are not the only ones making such moves. York, England, recently began asking parents who register their newborns at York Register Office to have a tree planted. Click here for more details.
