One mom explains that regular cotton production isn't truly eco-friendly.

Although cotton is soft, cheap, and practical, it's also grown by using pesticides (more than any other crop, actually). Regular cotton production also requires more water than does organic cotton. One mom discovered this when she attended a preview for an organic clothing brand (Crummy Mummy).

Organic cotton is "the most soothing and harmless natural fibre there is in the world," she writes. But it's also more expensive than regular cotton. However, moms can still make a difference for the environment, even by making small changes like using canteens (rather than plastic bottles) or even buying organic baby clothing.
