Country Superstar to Provide Free Groceries in Nashville

The Paisleys share the importance of empowering individuals and families.

Through a partnership with Belmont University, Brad Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, are set to break ground in 2019 on The Store, a free grocery store.

“This is a grocery store with dignity for people who have fallen on hard times,” Paisley told The Tennessean. “All of us are one unforeseen disaster away from rock bottom. It’s nice to think about a place where when that happens to someone, they can use it to get back on their feet.”

The Store is planned to offer fresh and non-perishable foods, job training and a free toy aisle during the holidays. The Store will give non-profit organizations and government agencies a much-needed place to refer those in need.

The inspiration for The Store came from a trip to Unity Shoppe in Santa Barbara, Calif. The couple intended to teach their sons about serving others, and in return the Unity Shoppe touched their hearts.
