Changing Tables Now Required in Men's Rooms in New York

New York has just passed a law requiring all public men's bathrooms in new or renovated buildings to install changing tables. Though society doesn't consider this often, it makes perfect sense for dads to need changing tables for their children. Otherwise, they are forced to resort to squatting on the floor, finding a clean patch of floor, or using the edge of the counter.
The New York governor's office instructs that "there must be at least one changing table accessible to both genders per publicly-accessible floor." Some businesses in other states, trying to "get ahead of building codes" or better serve their customers, have already begun providing this service (Motherly).
One Florida dad, Donte Palmer, posted a photo of himself changing his son's diaper by squatting on a bathroom floor.

Other dads began posting pictures of their attempts to diaper their children in a bathroom, using the hashtag #squatforchange that Palmer created. New York's new bathroom law will begin to change the way dads are treated as parents.
