Boy Asks Surgeon To Also Operate On His Teddy Bear

His surgeon complied, operating on the stuffed animal on another table.

Eight-year-old Jackson McKie has had multiple hospital visits and surgeries since he was an infant. Jackson has hydrocephalus, in which fluid is trapped in the ventricles of his brain, and a cyst on his brain as well. Before his most recent surgery, he asked his surgeon to also operate on his stuffed animal.

Dr. Daniel McNeely, Jackson's neurosurgeon since he was little, acquiesced. He operated on the teddy bear using a smaller table and a couple of tools, according to This Blew My Mind. He gave the bear stitches right after operating on Jackson.

His father Rick praised the surgeon, saying, "He's one of the nicest human beings I've ever met." Click here to learn more.
