One Mom's Thoughts on Being a Mom at 34

This hilarious list is one that will bring you tears of laughter.

When working mom Emily Shields turned 34 her Facebook friends wished her well through social media. Shields took the general “thank you for the birthday wishes” post to another level, and we are thanking her now for the comic relief. She included a list of “34 things I care about at age 34” in her thank you message.

As a working mom myself, I can relate to her hilarious list of 34 things. Here are my top five picks from her post, but be sure to check out the full list here.

  1. I Didn’t Get 7 Hours Of Sleep Last Night Do You Think People At Work Will Notice That I Am Wrapped In This Blanket Like A Burrito
  2. That One Time I Forgot To Put On Face Moisturizer Before Going To Work And I Had To Use Aveeno Hand Lotion And How Can I Avoid Such Trauma Ever Again
  3. Did My Daughter Eat A Single Vegetable Today? Yes? Ok Then Yes She Can Have A Tortilla For Dinner
  4. People At Work Think I Know What I’m Doing How Do I Break It To Them
  5. How Do I Make Friends With Other Moms Without Leaving My House Or Talking To Anyone

Finding humor in this season of motherhood is really the key to survival. Thank you, Emily Shields!
