In 2018, It's Finally Legal to Breastfeed in Public in All 50 States

It's about time.

Earlier this year, Utah and Idaho became the last two states to protect public breastfeeding by law.

Utah's bill was not passed without opposition, though. 

The bill originally faced opposition when language was included in the bill that allowed women to breastfeed "uncovered."

"[T]his seems to say you don't have to cover up at all," said Rep. R. Curt Webb (R). "[I'm] not comfortable with that at all. I'm just not. It's really in your face.”

The bill eventually passed in the Utah House Representatives by a vote of 66-5 after the portion about not having to be covered was removed from the bill. 

Idaho's law, on the other hand, was passed unanimously with no dissenting votes.
